And the winner is? - Lord V3ngy
For those that were there when i posted about this in chat last week,
this friday just gone was my first "ranked" boxing match.

I was given a baptism of fire by having to fight someone a 23 - 0 win record
(21 by K.O).

Well the fight went ahead as scheduled and it lasted to me what seemed an absolute damn eternity in that little canvas ring. We traded blows for the first few rounds, neither one of us gaining what you could call an advantage.

The only remarkable event of the first 5 rounds was when i slipped on the canvas but this was not classed as a knock down so it was ok.

In the 6th round a clash of heads left me with a cut below my right eye (i think the other guy planned it as his head had been getting very close to mine for a while) Anyway at the end of the round the ref "suggested" that due to the nature of the cut we should throw in the towel, but i wasn't having any of it. I was patched up and ventured into rounds 7 and 8.

Come round, 9 i was feelin a little worse for wear (as this was the furthest i had ever been in a fight) but the adrenaline was keeping me going just about. After taking a barrage of blows to the body i pushed the guy away from myself and laid into him with a flurry of my own strikes to the body, followed by a sweet uppercut to the jaw (even if i do say so myself), at which point he hit the floor.

I was hoping the guy wouldn't get back up as my arms felt like lead weights and didn't know how much more i had in me. But to my dismay he was up and ready to carry on on the 8 count. Luckily i made it to the end of the round so i at least had a chance to get my breath back.

Round 10, now here's where the real fun began. I'm technically in unchartered waters here, i've never been this far in a fight, not used to the sheer amount of rounds (note to self: really must start more intense endurance training).

It started well as the other guy still seemed rattled from his quick "canvas nap" i gave him the round before. But i started to get lead arm syndrome and he clattered me with a few jabs and pushed me over, but as the ref didn't see the push he took it as a knock down and started the count. I was back up at the 5 count feeling a little dizzy but plugged on till i saw my chance. His guard was dropped and i just layed into him with everything i had left in me. Body shots, head jabs, anything i could hit him with basically. Then the perfect moment came, he was dazed and had the glassy eyed look so i wound up and gave everything in my punch.

The next thing i know i'm being hit in the face with a gum sheild and splatter of blood before the guy dropped like a sack of spuds, the ref stopped it there and then on the spot, which i'm damn glad about as i had nothing left to give, and just dropped to my knees absolutely exhausted.

So i am now 1 - 0 (1K.O)

Time for me to relax and heal as am covered in a huge amount of bruises, i swear i must have bruises on bruises i ache that much.

Gonna leave it for a bit before my next fight as i have a long road ahead of me training wise before i contemplate stepping into the ring as 3x 4minute rounds is a walk in the park compared to 12x 3minute rounds.
